Please always establish a relationship with a hands on Veterinarian. Many times prescriptions drugs that are needed in a emergency vets will leave with their clients depending on the relationship established with that veterinarian.
First Aid Kit Supplies
- Phone number for regular vet and emergency vet
- Roll cotton
- Self-adhesive bandage
- Gauze pads (assorted sizes)
- Adhesive cloth tape
- Duct tape
- Leg wraps (pillow wraps and stable bandages)
- Scissors
- Rectal Thermometer ( Normal temperature: 99-101°F; 37.2-38.3°C. )
- Surgical scrub and antiseptic solution ( Betadine is used often)
- Wound Ointment
- Latex gloves
- Flashlight
- Extra Batteries
- Pliers or nippers (to pull nails)
- Eye wash
- Clean towels
- Epsom Salts
- Hoof Boot
- Animalintex poultice pads for abscesse
- Electrolyte powder or paste
- Lube
- Mineral oil
- Duct tape or guerilla tape.
- Abdominal pads great. Maxipads work ok too
- Fly spray
- Empty spray bottle
- Paper towels
- Rope
- Hoof pick
