From Dr. Kathy – There is no single cause & therefore no single treatment for vomiting in cats. This could be anything from gastritis, IBD, pancreatitis, intestinal parasites, obstruction, heartworms (yes, even indoor cats can be bitten by a heartworm- carrying mosquito), food ingredient intolerance, and on and on and on and on and on. There is no single otc or home remedy that will treat all causes. We often rule out the more likely causes, try empirical treatment and/or then, if no resolution, more extensive diagnostics, uncluding ultrasound or even gastric or intestinal biopsies are needed (either by endoscopy or exploratory). In other words, if vomiting occurs and continues for more than a few times veterinary attention is needed. Waiting for diagnostics often results in delayed treatment and allows worsening of disease.
